On 17 March 2010 the Hon. Kevin Rudd, MP, Prime Minister of Australia launched the National Compact between the Australian Government and the Third Sector (community and not for profit organisations).

BCS is one of over 205 organisations in Australia to join a new National Compact, and in doing so, has agreed to work with all Australian Government agencies to improve social, cultural, civic, economic and environmental outcomes, building on the strengths of individuals and communities.

The National Compact represents a commitment by the Australian Government and the Third Sector to genuinely collaborate to achieve this shared vision.

The Compact’s shared principles provide a foundation for action to improve working relationships, strengthen Sector viability and develop and deliver better policy and programs.
