New counselling centre for the Central Coast

To meet increasing demand for community and family support services in the Wyong area, leading not-for-profit care provider Baptist Community Services – NSW & ACT (BCS) has officially opened a new BCS LifeCare Counselling & Family Services centre, with local dignitaries Mr Craig Thomson MP and Mr David Harris MP, on Tuesday 9 June.

 

The new centre, located centrally on the Pacific Highway at Tuggerah, offers a wide range of support services and will enable residents on the Central Coast to access professional counselling support.

 

The BCS LifeCare Counselling & Family Service centre offers individual counselling, couple and family counselling, relationship education programs, family skills training, domestic violence counselling, men’s programs and training options, including internships, supervision, corporate and organisational training.

 

Specialised group seminars and programs are also available, including a Pathways to Parenting group, anger management for young people, a men’s relationship group (Snags on the Grill), as well as domestic violence support for women (Living Beyond Abuse), children  (Kids Time), men (Facing Up) and for families recovering from domestic violence (Connections).

 

The new Wyong centre includes a counselling staff of ten, serving over 100 clients every week.

 

BCS LifeCare Counselling and Family Services has been providing professional counselling services to the NSW community for over 30 years, adopting a proactive, whole-of-family approach in all of its programs, as it seeks to provide high quality counselling and support services.

 

BCS’ counselling services are partially subsidised by FaHCSIA, and fees are scaled according to family income, and a number of services can be accessed for free or with a small donation. Appointments can be made by calling 1300 130 225.
