Wnners of the BCS 2008 Staff Excellence Awards have just been announced.
Highlighting excellent achievement across the organisation, this year’s award winners include a care service employee, a registered nurse, a community care worker, a resource teacher and an office co-ordinator.
The winners will be presented with Certificates of Excellence and gift vouchers at an end-of-year dinner to be attended by the BCS Board, Executive Leadership Team and other senior staff.
Award recipient Annette Willows, Financial Team Leader at BCS Support Services said she felt privileged to be selected for one of this year's awards.
"It is only by working together as a team, either in our own area or across divisions, that we are able to achieve success, and it is wonderful that BCS recognises our core values by presenting these awards," she said.
BCS Human Resources General Manager Mr Allen Sibley said the Staff Excellence Awards recognised achievement across all aspects of BCS operations, including the five BCS AgeCare regions, BCS LifeCare and Support Services.
“There were many worthy nominees and the 23 people selected have demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence in the workplace,” Mr Sibley said.
“The recipients have demonstrated a willingness to go the extra mile and have all been great models of BCS’ mission and values.”
Mr Sibley said that BCS was eager to enhance staff recognition processes and in early 2009 the organisation would launch a new multi-tiered recognition program.
The new initiative will enable staff to be recognised on-the-job at a local level, while also building in higher levels of recognition and reward, culminating in a major award dinner at the end of the year.
“As an organisation committed to being an employer of choice, BCS is developing innovative and intentional strategies aimed at improving our staff referral, recruitment, retention, training and recognition processes, Mr Sibley said.
