Opportunities for service exist in our Residential and In-Home aged care services, along with our BCS LifeCare programs, supporting the disadvantaged in the community.
You can sign up for a set time each week, fortnight or month, you may want to join us for a specific project, or you may have a team that can sign on for a special team opportunity!

BCS LIFECARE
BCS Crystal Street Community Shop
Volunteer Shop Assistants
Volunteers are needed at the valuable inner city community shop. We need volunteers who are able to work both in a team and by themselves, be able to relate well to our clients, able to think on their feet, be trustworthly with money handling and have an understanding of BCS Mission and Values. Volunteer also need to be able to understand the policies and procedures and how they relate to BCS Crystal Street.

BCS Chisholm Care (Macarthur area)
Child Care Assistant
We currently have an opportunity for a female Child Care Assistant to assist in minding children (1 - 5 years of age) to help the workers run play group whilst parents attend groups.
A desired time commitment of 4 hours per week is preferred.
BCS Darcy House (Port Kembla)
Kitchen Support
BCS Darcy House is a drop-in centre for the Port Kembla community. Volunteers are needed to help with kitchen duties, including assisting with meal service to homeless, marginalized people.
Volunteers are rostered for one day per week (4-5 hours per day), between the hours of 10am and 3pm (Monday to Friday).

SYDNEY REGION
BCS Care Centre - Hills District
Companion and Social Activity and Shopping Assistants
Volunteer are needed to provide transport, companionship and support to isolated and/or housebound aged, frail and younger people with a disability.
The time commitment is 2 hours weekly or fortnightly (depending on your availability).
A NSW Drivers Licence and own vehicle (with Comprehensive Car insurance) are a requirement of this role.

Fellowship Assistant
Volunteers are needed to help with fellowship. Assistance required in setting up room, preparing afternoon tea and cleaning up afterwards. Every Tuesday 1pm – 3pm.

BCS Aminya Centre (Baulkham Hills)
Bus Assistant
Volunteers are needed for bus outings to be an extra pair of hands with a smile (not required to drive)

BCS Care Centre - South West Sydney
Volunteers studying their Certificate 3 in Fitness or anyone who is fit and able are needed to assist clients in a community pilot program - Healthy Aged Training Sessions (HATS). This program will include heart moves gentle exercise classes and a Walking Club. This program will be piloted in February - August 2012 and will require the assistance of 10 volunteers in the South West Sydney area. Volunteer support will be required Wednesday and Friday mornings for 3 - 4 hours. All kilometres travelled will be paid at an agreed rate and volunteers can claim hours as Approved Voluntary Work through Centrelink.
Duties will consist of:
Transporting clients to and from program venue
Social Support and Participation
Administrative Support
Current Drivers Licence required. Vehicle not essential.

Ladies Craft Assistants
We need new ideas and help to prepare our craft time activities a couple of times a week! Female volunteers are invited to assist. Our ladies love craft!

Men's Gardening Group Volunteer
Do you love gardening? Do you have a few hours on a Wednesday from 9.30am - 1pm? Now that summer is on its way, we need a male volunteer to assist with general veggie patch gardening! The men's group would love to interact with the volunteer gardener, especially if they know the magic recipe for growing amazing tomatoes! The volunteer would be invited to join us for morning tea and lunch.

BCS Morling Lodge (Red Hill)
BCS Morling Lodge has a large number of exciting opportunities currently available for volunteers, including:
Cooking Assistant: Assist residents within a cooking group on Wednesdays 10:30 -11:30am & 2:45 - 3:45pm
Musicians: To provide entertainment by way of sing-along's & mini concerts. Days & times are variable pending availability

BCS Carey Gardens (Red Hill)
Bus Driver
Volunteers with a Light Rigid drivers licence are invited to join our team to drive our 12 seater bus for local outings, scenic and cafe drives on Wednesdays and/or Fridays 9.45 - 11.45am or 2.00 - 4.00pm.
Art and Craft Assistants
Volunteers are needed to help our residents to participate in art and craft. Any day - morning or afternoon!
Companion and Social Activity Shopping Assistants
Volunteers are needed to provide transport, companionship and support to residents wishing to go on small outings.
The time commitment is 2 hours weekly or fortnightly.
Current drivers licence, comprehensive and own vehicle are a requirement of this role.
